Overnight Oats Strawberry Lime

Today on the market we saw strawberries, lots of strawberries. And by now they are from Germany, as well, which makes them slightly less sweet than the Spanish ones in the supermarket. Personally, I like the sweeter ones better but when you live in Hamburg and prefer the ‘sour’ ones you can go ahead and by the regional strawberries. Their sweetness is determined by the hours of sunshine the fruit gets – hence there are no sweet strawberries in Hamburg at the moment. Today we’ll enjoy them with curd cheese, milk and overnight oats of course; this time in combination with lime.

For one portion you need

  • 5 tbsp rolled oats (50 g)
  • Juice of ½ lime
  • 200 g strawberries
  • 50 ml milk

  1. Clean the strawberries and blend 100 g with lime juice and milk. Put in a jar and add the oats.
  2. Put in fridge overnight. In the morning cut up the rest of the strawberries and add to the oats.
  3. If you are in a hurry in the morning, you can cut the strawberries in the evening, as well, and put them in the jar, too.
