Kefir Oats with Strawberries and Cacao Nibs

Nobody can blame us for not listening to you: The Nutella-Oats with currants are one of the most popular recipes of the last weeks. And somehow I believe that’s because of the Nutella and not because of the currants. So you guys like chocolate… Ok, so do we, but not every day can be a cheat day and that’s why today’s recipe is about Overnight Oats which have a rich chocolate taste but are still low on calories. The secret ingredient: “cacao nibs” – roasted, peeled and hackled cacao beans which also contain 12 g of protein. A small tip for the crushing: Just put the cacao beans in a freezer bag and use a meat tenderizer to crush the beans. It’s a lot of fun and doesn’t make as much of a mess.

For one portion you need

  • 5 tbsp rolled oats (50 g)
  • 150 g kefir, low fat
  • 1 tsp chia seeds or flax seeds
  • 50 g strawberries
  • 10 g cashew nuts
  • 5 g cacao beans / nibs

  1. Mix rolled oats, kefir and chia seeds in a jar.
  2. Seal the jar and put in fridge overnight.
  3. In the morning, add strawberries, cashews and cacao nibs.
